And your Lord inspired to the bee, “Take for yourself among the mountains, houses, and among the trees and [in] that which they construct.
Then eat from all of the fruits and follow the ways of your Lord laid down [for you].” There emerges from their bellies a drink, varying in colors, in which there is healing for people. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who give thought. an-Nahl 68-69
Honey is a sweet food made by bees using nectar from flower. It has a long history of human consumption, and is used in various foods and beverages as a sweetener and flavoring.
Prophet Muhammad S.A.W once said, the best drink is honey because it can concentrate your heart and eliminate air in the chest and He also said who ever wanted an excellent memory he should drink the honey.
The benefits has already been known since the Ancient Egypt. Queen Cleopatra herself use honey for health and beauty. In addition, honey also been used as an ingredient for mummification of Ancient Egyptian Kings.
Honey consumption leads directly to the formation of liver glycogen, thus stabilising blood sugar levels. Honey thereby reduces metabolic stress and improves fat metabolism and disposal, thus combating two of the key parameters of the metabolic syndrome, Type 2 Diabetes and obesity.
