In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Recite in the name of your Lord who created {1} Created man from a clinging substance {2} Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous {3} Who taught by the pen {4} Taught man that which he knew not. {5} al-Alaq (1-5)
Lately I have been busy with an occasion that require me to spend my whole precious day on the site. Being very tired, an idea flushed in. “Today I will skip a class“. But thing gets into a consideration when I remembered what Allah said “whoever does a good deed even an atom’s weight he will received the reward; And whoever does an atom’s weight of evil he will get a punishment“ ~ al-Zalzalah : 7-8
My super senior once told me about the cost we had to pay just to study here in Egypt. It is about LE 200 per day (more or less). Meaning if I were to skip a class, LE 200 will be spoiled (for Egyptian the amount is really huge) and I will be judged by Allah for that kind of irresponsibility. May be for some of us skipping a class is a normal thing for a student but actually it is an act of ignorance.
A trend I saw here is students attending the lectures just to fill their attendance rather than learning their courses. Prophet Muhammad PBUH said, seeking knowledge is obligatory for every Muslim, whether male or female. Islam asked us to seek knowledge regarding everything so that we are not left behind.
Reasons to attend a class/lecture
- to acquire blessing from teachers
- responsibility as a Muslim
- gain extra knowledge
- promise to parents
- sharpen my mind
A wise man once said, learn everything you can, anytime you can, from anyone you can – there will always come a time when you will be grateful you did. Remember learning is a treasure that will follow its owner everywhere.
